How come a lot of people kept saying to stay away from Kia products?

I mean Kia does offer the best warranties on their vehicles for really good price. Therefore i don't understand why people kept telling me to stay away from Kia if i am thinking of purchasing a new vehicle from them?|||I'm just going to copy %26amp; paste my answer to a similar question the other day:

May I refer you to the most recent J.D. Power %26amp; assoc. study?


The most recentl study was of 2003 vehicles that had been on the road for 3 years. This study lists 37 manufacturers in order of the least problems to the most problems .

As for the much acclaimed warranty......read it!


10year/100,000 mile warranty is LIMITED to 10,000 miles per year.


What if you happen to put 11,000 miles on in 11 months and then you have a problem? Guess what? You get nothing!





Need I go on to the safety issues?


I think I'll leave that up to some other answerer......|||I am working in Kia Motors, to be honest the best Kia to buy is Sorento.


This is the vehicle that you wont feel sorry to buy, there are NO problems in this vehicle.





About the others, there are some advantages and disadvantages. you name it, ill tell u about it :)

|||well i also wonder why people hate(dats how i will call d much dislike people hav 4 kia)kia,and to me they are simply the best .i dont care wat people say about the misfortunes they had with kia"s,but at least they r still improving.

|||In Kia's defense, they do have the safest rated minivan in the country in the Sedona (rated by the Insurance Institute for Highway Saftey). I think their higher end products like the minivan and their SUVs are quite nice considering the price and the warranty they offer.|||What good is a warranty if you are stuck with a crap product? Just because you can have it repaired for free for awhile doesn't mean life will be any better living in the dealer service dept. I have been in the automotive industry for over 35 years and I can tell you for sure that Kia cars are complete junk. You would be far better off to simply purchase a four year old used Honda Civic. If you are worried about warranties then drop about 2k into a savings account to cover any possible mechanical breakdowns that may occur (instant warranty -- in today's vehicles there is virtually no chance anything will fail that will cost in excess of $2,000.00 to repair). If no major component failures occur in the next five years or so, you can buy another clean used vehicle and STILL have two grand in the bank drawing interest.|||at first Kia made a dependable little car ,,they didint look cool ar anything,,,some of those are still running, Im thinking of getting my wife one...They have become more stylish and better constructed and the warranty ,,,geesh|||It's the difference between buying off-brand rather than brand name stuff... sure, it's cheaper, it might even come with a decent warranty, but you know it's going to fall apart a lot sooner than the more reliable brand. My boyfriend's Kia is simply not safe to take on the highway- it really can't travel very far without having a bad breakdown. A friend also had a Kia that crumpled up like cardboard in a wreck with a Chevy, which came out with hardly a scratch. She's lucky to be alive. I will no longer buy one sell one or take one in trade. These have been expensive problems. $400. to $600 every time. They run very well but have constant subsystem failures. Heater cores, sensors and ABS issues just to name a few.
